Xolo has launched a new 4G LTE-enabled budget smartphone under its range of 'LT' devices - the Xolo LT2000 at Rs. 9,999. It is worth mentioning that the company had launched the Xolo LT900 in December 2013. The smartphone is available to buy from leading e-commerce websites but is yet to be listed on the company website.

The Xolo LT2000 is a dual-SIM smartphone running Android 4.4 KitKat. The company has however, promised to release an Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the smartphone in the future. It features a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) resolution display protected with Dragontrail glass. Powered by a quad-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, the LT2000 sports 1GB of RAM and Adreno 306 GPU clocked at 400MHz.

The latest Xolo offering also features an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with a BSI 2 sensor and LED flash, apart from a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The Xolo LT2000 bears 8GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 32GB).

Measuring 115x74.8x7.8 mm, the LT2000's connectivity features include 4G TDD and FDD LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB with OTG, and A-GPS. A 2920mAh battery backs the handset, which is available only in a Black colour variant.

Xolo has also introduced a self-updating phone book app called 6degrees. The app offers a suite of features dealing with calling, messaging and managing connections. The app also updates the phone book on the device whenever contacts change their details. Searching for shops and restaurants, apart from requesting friends for their contact details, is also possible through the app.

The company will be bringing the app to Xolo LT2000 users via an OTA update, which will be released the next week. Xolo says users can also download and install the OTA update manually from the Xolo support website. The app will come pre-installed in the next batch of LT2000 smartphones.

China's Meizu All Set to Enter Indian Smartphone Market

Meizu, one of the top smartphone manufacturers in China, is all set to enter the Indian market. The company on Wednesday announced the launch of its Facebook page for India (though it was created roughly a month ago), and has started a giveaway contest.

To participate in Meizu India's giveaway contest, users have to reply to the firm's Facebook post with their 'Meizu story', alongside mentioning three friends. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer says winners will be announced on Saturday.

What product is given away to the contest winners by Meizu is expected to be a strong hint towards what product the Chinese manufacturer will launch first in India.

The company's Facebook page cover photo (both for the global page and the India page) features the Meizu m1 note smartphone, which was launched in January, and the company is also hinting it will launch this model in India. A Meizu India Facebook reads, "Meizu fans in China really love the m1 note! We are sure that you will love it too!"
